Adding a bark topper to plants growing in their green pots means they can really limit their use of herbicides. Plus, see how the field in the second pic slopes in to the middle? Tish Treherne of Bliss Garden Design knows how to achieve it all 🌿✨ Her lush, low-water meadow replaced a thirsty lawn that now attracts birds, bees, and butterflies using a vibrant mix of perennials, succulents, grasses, and shrubs.

She shared some of her top tips for successful xeriscape gardening with @MonroviaPlants, and we're passing them along to you:

❊ Leverage the rainy season: Plant during the rainy or wet season to establish roots before dry conditions set in

❊ Drip irrigation over sprinklers: Switch to drip irrigation to reduce water waste and improve efficiency
